A Spring Message

“The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.”

— Harriet Ann Jacobs

Spring is here! As the days get longer and the natural world around us comes back to life, I can’t help but smile and ponder what’s to come.

I can feel the subtle changes of spring everywhere I turn. Just the other day, I noticed a break in the clouds as the sunshine warmed me in a way I hadn’t felt in a while. It was a fleeting moment that brought a smile to my face. Just seeing the sun evokes thoughts of longer days, new growth, and possibilities.

What does spring mean to you? For me, spring is special in that it perfectly encapsulates the past and the future. I recall the joy of longer days, bike rides with friends through my neighborhood, my mother baking tasty treats, and those seemingly endless nights as a young adult in college.

In those nostalgic memories, I can feel the same spark of energy in the air as I did in the springtime of my youth. It’s a beautiful thing and a perspective only time can give.

Spring is a time of rebirth and has long served as a metaphor for life and its renewal. We are here on this planet for a limited time. The spirit of the season, with its blossoming flowers and vibrant trees, serves as a powerful reminder of our purpose on Earth. Just as plants grow through hard soil and flourish, we too are determined to carry on and thrive, embracing the beauty of life despite its fleeting nature.

As the season unfolds, may you find joy in the little moments, beauty in the world around you, and a renewed sense of purpose. And for those celebrating Easter or observing Passover, we wish you a meaningful time of reflection, renewal, and hope.

About VALUABLES

Many financial advisors focus on communicating with clients to provide complex analysis of the investment markets and economies. However, we have learned that most clients are not particularly interested in this complex analysis. Most clients hire an advisor for their knowledge of the markets, not for their ability to explain that knowledge. Most want to know what time it is, not how to build a watch.

Experience has taught us that wealthy families care most about using their wealth as a means to a desirable end, which is to achieve a more satisfying, fulfilled and impactful life, and to fulfill their most important Life Values.

VALUABLES is a periodic article series focused on the concepts, systems, and habits which we have observed among families who have been successful in this quest to use their wealth as a tool to live a life of significance. The most successful families share a set of habits, systems, and insights which enable them to use their wealth as a tool to fulfill their Values and what is most important to them.

We named this article series VALUABLES, because it provides an exploration of those habits, systems, and insights. We hope it will help you to consider your assets and possessions which are most valuable to you, and how you can use your financial wealth to enhance and cultivate your true “Valuables”.
